If you are looking to promote your website, I have found that one of the top methods is through Pay Per Click programs. The top two are provided by the leaders in the search business, Yahoo Search and Google.

There are also many third tier programs that I have tried and found that they do not produce. They send unqualified traffic. The money spent on these programs is less and created an initial draw to me. But in the end, it was money thrown away.

With Overture I have had my best results. I generally obtain a two percent conversion rate for products.

Here are some quick tips for Overture:
1. Never bid number 1.
2. Find niche terms that are not being exploited.
3. Track everything. Overture offers good tools for this. I still use my own tools for tracking to avoid providing them with too much of my data.
4. Constantly test. See what is working and what isn’t working.

Using the above tips, you should be well on your way to making good conversions.
